Signal.
An evolving body of image-based work emerging from the visual language established in Origin, continuing alongside it.
Working across drawing, mixed media, and digital image-making, Signal explores recurring themes of systems, architecture, landscape, and the solitary figure through a consistent black-and-white visual language.
The starkness of these images is deliberate. Their concentrated forms and strong tonal structures are built to move between digital image-making and physical process. They provide source material for ongoing material tests through gel plate, screen printing, drawing, painting, and other forms of transfer, repetition, and reconstruction.
Some works remain complete in their own right. Others are made to undergo further transformation, allowing changes in scale, surface, texture, registration, and material to generate new physical works, prints, and moving-image developments within the wider Silent Running practice.
