Mile High Cathedral

We are only passengers.
This time is ours, but not this world.

A developing world within the Silent Running practice.

Mile High Cathedral explores monumentality, symbolic architecture, and responsibility through an evolving body of visual fragments, drawings, diagrams, and image-based studies. Together they gradually reveal an imagined civilisation suspended between technology, ritual, and memory.

Rather than following a single narrative, the project unfolds through accumulation. Each work functions as an artefact from a larger system, revealing aspects of its architecture, landscapes, inhabitants, and internal logic. Meaning emerges through repetition, variation, and visual relationships rather than direct explanation.

Questions of belief, labour, control, identity, and collective purpose are explored through atmosphere, structure, and visual language, allowing the world to feel discovered rather than invented.

As the archive continues to grow, Mile High Cathedral also forms the visual foundation of a developing animated film, expanding through contemporary drawing, visual development, and symbolic world-building.
