2016–

Initial Conditions.

I made the earliest of these drawings before Silent Running took shape as an ongoing visual art practice.

Rediscovered, they revealed an earlier formation of the visual language that now runs through the work. Built through accumulation and repetition, their forms move between figure, architecture, landscape, and imagined environment. Rather than telling stories directly, the drawings establish conditions in which questions of consciousness, transformation, and what it means to be human within larger systems emerge.

These early works precede Origin, which marks the beginning of the current practice. They now form the starting point for Initial Conditions, an ongoing series within the wider Silent Running visual language. Bringing the original drawings into relation with new work, the series continues to explore a language that first emerged before it was consciously recognised, structured, or named.
